DasNews #2

Porsche has unveiled yet another 911 variant, the 911 GT3 RS. The 3.8 liter six now puts out 450 horsepower, 15 more than the “normal” GT3. The RS comes with all kinds of goodies, such as Dynamic Engine Mounts which change can the stiffness of the engine mounts based on the environment. The varied stiffness and damping rates should, according to Porsche, improve handling under “lively” conditions. Another interesting bit is the option of a lithium-ion battery that cuts weight by more that 22 pounds. The 911 GT3 RS is track ready and will be available in the spring of 2010 for $132,800.

DasNews #1

At this year’s Frankfurt Auto Show, BMW released the M6 Competition, among other things. Production is limited to 100 units, all of which will carry a unique commemorative plaque. BMW is also taking the opportunity to introduce a new color, Frozen Gray Metallic, a matte gray. On the tech side, the M6 has been lowered 10mm in the front and by 12mm in the back. At the time of writing, pricing was not available, but expect something stratospheric.
