Type A update (Late update from the old site)

For those didn't follow the old site, i got a hold of 3 type As in 17x7.5 et30.Luckily, After some searching these will not become a coffee table. I managed to find a NOS from germany, and it has arrived. As promised, this thing is MINT. Never been mounted, no curbing, no brake dust. Around december the rest will be cleaned up and redrilled to 4x100. They may make an appearance at Left Coast Low, or they may be substituted for something else.

DasNews #3

The E34 that Never Was
We can all agree that the E34 M5 is an amazing automobile. This particular M5, however, is exceptionally amazing. The M5 Convertible came within a week of being a reality at the 1989 Geneva Auto show, before being axed at the last minute for fear of cannibalizing 3 series drop top sales. Today, all we can do is shake our heads and wonder why BMW chose to deprive us.

DasNews #2

Porsche has unveiled yet another 911 variant, the 911 GT3 RS. The 3.8 liter six now puts out 450 horsepower, 15 more than the “normal” GT3. The RS comes with all kinds of goodies, such as Dynamic Engine Mounts which change can the stiffness of the engine mounts based on the environment. The varied stiffness and damping rates should, according to Porsche, improve handling under “lively” conditions. Another interesting bit is the option of a lithium-ion battery that cuts weight by more that 22 pounds. The 911 GT3 RS is track ready and will be available in the spring of 2010 for $132,800.

DasNews #1

At this year’s Frankfurt Auto Show, BMW released the M6 Competition, among other things. Production is limited to 100 units, all of which will carry a unique commemorative plaque. BMW is also taking the opportunity to introduce a new color, Frozen Gray Metallic, a matte gray. On the tech side, the M6 has been lowered 10mm in the front and by 12mm in the back. At the time of writing, pricing was not available, but expect something stratospheric.

Coil'd. [From the old site]

Installed some coilovers. Suprisingly, the sleeve i was using was a generic ebay sleeve but fit the strut housing like a glove.
Cut down the perch, installed sleeve (pics clickable)

The springs are Ground Control 300/500, 6″ height. Im not running perches in the rear.
The 300/500 coilover setup im pretty happy with, paired with bilstein sports. It makes the e30 feel planted, with almost non existant body roll or dive during braking.

Special thanks to Chris at Castro’s in Van Nuys for the Fab work!

Under Construction

We've got most of it sorted out now. Better media, slideshows, maybe even a video or two in the future.

But, more still needs to be done. Expect the page to change as we adjust the layout, as well as post some older articles from the old Das Stuff

The world of Drag Scooters

Not your grandma's scooter.

You gotta admit, this looks like fun.

Perhaps an official Das Stüff drag bike?
